Presentation of Raffles of Singapore: the musical

Given to the Singapore UK Association (SUKA) on 15 August

As part of the world-wide celebrations to mark Singapore day, Richard Cleghorn-Brown and Ian Senior, co-writers of Raffles of Singapore, were invited to present some songs from Raffles to a large gathering of Singaporeans on 15 August at the Ibis Hotel, Earls Court. The event was organised by SUKA, a vibrant community of overseas Singaporeans and their friends in the UK.  Richard and Ian performed "My Island, Singapore", the anthem from Act II of the musical which marks Sir Stamford Raffles's foundation of Singapore in 1819 (Go to the home page to listen to the anthem) and also "Devil may Care"— part of which you can see if you click HERE

At an earlier event for UK-based Singaporeans held at Hampton Court on 25 May some 10,500 Singaporeans attended.
